At the start of this month, the first impressions of the Dreamfall Chapters Kickstarter campaign emerged in the form of two pictures (1 | 2) on the Red Thread Games twitter page. Prominently featuring in these pictures (and most likely in the Kickstarter video) is Dag Scheve, writer on both Dreamfall and Dreamfall Chapters.
Will Dag be able to convince enough people to so generously reach inside their wallets and send the guys and gals of Red Thread Games some money through the magical means of the internet in order to help make Dreamfall Chapters a reality? We can only hope his friendly posture in the picture below reflects throughout the rest of the video and that he didn’t freeze during the recording of the outdoor scenes.
Since this site has been online, there has been a poll asking everyone how much they will contribute to the Kickstarter. At this moment, we’re nearing 100 votes. Let’s take a look, shall we?
The poll gives choices that consist out of a minimum and maximum amount. There have been 98 votes at the moment I’m writing this.
$25 – $50 (26%, 25 Votes)
$100 – $250 (24%, 24 Votes)
$50 – $100 (16%, 16 Votes)
$250 – $500 (12%, 12 Votes)
$10 – $25 (11%, 11 Votes)
Totally nothing… (6%, 6 Votes)
More! (5%, 4 Votes)
Summed up, the minimum and maximum amount that is likely going to be donated according to the poll is:
A minimum of $6,935 and
a maximum of $15,125
Of course these numbers aren’t certain until the Kickstarter is online and the people who voted have actually donated their specified amount of money, but it does give us an indication of how much people are willing to donate. Remarkably, almost 25% percent of the votes were for an amount between $100 and $250. Some people are even willing to donate more than $500. Let’s hope this will also be true when the Kickstarter kicks off.
If you haven’t voted yet, but you do have an idea about how much you’ll be willing to donate, please do vote. I’m sure the people at Red Thread Games are checking in from time to time. They might be able to use this information to fine tune the Kickstarter. You can find the poll at the right side of this site.
Also, be sure to check out the thread ‘Kickstarter rewards and stretch goals’ on the Thirteen Chapters forums and share your thoughts about what kinds of rewards and stretch goals you’d prefer for the Kickstarter. The people at Red Thread are surely taking note!
